S… and her 8-year-old daughter were hosted at the Open Accommodation Center of the A Step Forward project, having grown up deprived of basic freedoms such as education and freedom of expression and speech. “I didn’t want the same thing to happen to my daughter,” so she left her country in search of a safe environment for them to live in.
Through A Step Forward’s activities and educational programs, she transformed from a woman full of anger and unanswered questions about all the things she endured over the years to a woman who believes in herself, trusts the people around her again, and finds the strength to learn new things that will help her in her future. S… will make her own future, for herself and her daughter. 👩‍👧
